Capture what's there
Measure the real thing, not a drawing that's decades out of date.
Paul Fisher, Design Consultant
With over thirty years’ experience overhauling, designing and installing heavy plant on mining and industrial sites, Paul can design the upgrades, create the installation procedures and produce a maintenance pathway to stop the same problems from recurring.
Paul didn't learn machines from a screen. Thirty years on mining and industrial sites taught him how heavy plant really wears, where it fails, and how the people who run it actually use it. Now he designs with that knowledge.
Starting as an apprentice fitter and turner in an industrial breakdown and repair engineering workshop, Paul spent 30 years in mine and industrial construction, heavy equipment repairs and breakdowns, working his way up to site supervisor and project manager. When a process failed and nobody could work out why, Paul was the one they called.
Having worked a dual role as in-house designer and site supervisor for 15 years, Paul understands how your plant is supposed to work on paper, and how it works in the real world. That rare mix of hands-on experience and design skill means his designs are made to be manufactured, installed, maintained and lived with, not just to look right in a model.
Datumax is the result: practical engineering design from someone who has been on the other end of it.
From a worn part with no drawing to a full plant upgrade. If you work with plant equipment, this is for you.
Measure the real thing, not a drawing that's decades out of date.
Mechanical inspections of gearboxes, conveyors, drivetrains, hydraulics and crushers, before small faults become outages.
Designs that work in the workshop and on site, not just on screen.
Fix the root cause so the same breakdown doesn't keep coming back.
No account managers or hand-offs. You deal with Paul from the first email to the final drawing.
